Calypso.
-» The day has been cold & the predictions of the night seems to bring forth more chills. Winter is slightly beginning to fade away, like sand sliding through the fingers of quivering hands, with each day that passes. The brightest star in the day’s skyline is beginning to play hide & seek behind Cimoron’s landform. The breath of a madam came into crisp vision of the earth on the dusk of the day. That maiden’s calling was Calypso, a vixen who’s appearance & attitude made her striking & beautiful in her own ways. The wind whipped at her white mane & tail around her unusual violet stricken body frame. Ears flickered back & forth, listening for any new sound waves of anyone else on this god forsaken island. Do not get me wrong; she had nothing against Cimoron Island. She actually liked it here, it was the most descent home she has had so far in her lifetime; even though this was her first day here. Calypso just despised days like this. She didn’t know if it was her stiffening joints caused by the days sudden cold temperatures or if it was because no one has been spotted today, making it seem as if she was the only equine left on this earth. Today was so far, not loved…but more envied.
-» The thought; has it ever passed through your mind. What would it be like? Being the only one left on this universe. The only breath that would breathe in the day. Silence would fall around you day & night, the sound of death; no family, no friends. It would be fair to keep life, when your alone. No survival skills would be needed anymore. & the world, in time, will begin to fade away with each day that slides by. Everything that nature relied on would fall; the ground beneath your feet would soon begin to crumble away in pieces right before your visual. Death would spread & soon, you will be next.
-» Calypso’s visuals reflected the last bit of the sunset that shown in the horizon. Pedestals began to move, aimlessly wandering; not knowing where to go or what to do on this night. Breaths began to come into sight when her nares flared, exhaling. Breathing was steady. Head shook. Once again, boredom was beginning to get the best of her day….what to do now?

The slowly sun was setting on the horizon. Night would soon be drawing in. The breeze was cold and crisp; it raked like gentle fingers through his purple hair. The feeling brought a smile to his dark lips and he pushed his head up high so that the breeze brushed over his face and tickled his cheeks. A small shudder ran through him and he grinned an almost dopey grin to himself. It was surprisingly warm for this time of day, but then again, it was The Crater. He’d never ventured this far into Cimoron Island so this place, his very Crater was all new to him and it was all very new to his small, furry friend too. Sometimes, his feline friend frustrated him without meaning to, but it was little Danicio’s fault, oh no. It was just… nobody but Salvatore Roselli could see him! Danicio never left the young stallion’s side and the young stallion never let the cub’s side. The purple tinted stallion couldn’t help but wonder where or what he’d be doing right now without his silver and blue companion. “Master… Master, who is that over there?” the small feline suddenly chattered. The young male couldn’t help but scoff a little at being addressed by ‘Master’, when he was younger he used to love being addressed by as ‘Master’, but he was no master, he really wasn’t. He was just an ordinary, laid back, young chap… nothing special, really. “Salvatore, its Salvatore to you, stop with the whole Master thing,” he replied firmly with a lopsided grin to accompany his words. “Oh, sorry Ma— Salvatore…”
Salvatore followed Dani’s ice blue gaze and flared his nostrils curiously, “… a girl?” he murmured quietly to himself, he didn’t sound at all enthusiastic until seconds later when he was shifting and dancing on the spot. He was still a young male of four years old, he didn’t have a lot of experienced with girls, he was still naïve in some ways, respectively, but he was learning, always learning. He loved learning new things; it helped him get that one step closer to being a better being. It probably wasn’t right to say that he didn’t have a bad bone in his body, because he did… now and then, there was a dark little spark inside of him, but it wasn’t something he could control all that well. He had this… thing, where he thought he could mimic the tiger’s antics, be the tiger’s shadow… sometimes he over thought it to much and strongly believed he was in-fact a feline and not a lanky legged equine and such thoughts could sometimes turn him violent… but the only thing that had fallen victim to him was a tree, merely a tree. But he sometimes he panicked, he panicked a lot that he might suddenly flip and attack someone, he wouldn’t be able to bear that. He wasn’t an angry guy, he was naïve and sometimes childish, he was cheeky sometimes, loveable though.
“— Salvatore? Why don’t you go and talk to her?” the cub enthused, his eyes glimmering as he peered up at his taller companion. “What are you waiting for?” there was a moment’s hesitation before Salvatore snapped back to reality and peered down to meet the cub’s gaze, “oh? Nothing, nothing. C’mon then,” he grinned, motioning his head toward the pearly grey and purple mare. Turning on his feathery heels he pushed forward into a brisk trot, upon closer inspection he was first puzzled but then intrigued by the girl’s markings. She was indeed a pretty, light pearly grey with… purple skeleton markings? He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it, but… looks were looks, at the end of the day they weren’t really that important to him, he wasn’t shallow, he didn’t judge others on their looks. He noticed her long hair with violent mixed in here and there and her gazing hazel eyes were peering at the setting sun over the horizon. He halted near to her and tossed his head up to flick his forelock aside from his pinkish purple eyes. “Hey there,” he crooned, “I’m Salvatore Roselli,” he paused, “- obviously, you don’t have to use my full name, you can shorten it anyway you like if you want?” he tilted his head at her, studying her vivid purple markings, still intrigued as ever, he didn’t even seem to notice that his non existent feline friend had pulled up alongside him and was as equally intrigued. “What’s your name?”

Calypso.
-» What was that; her ears flickered t the sound of hoof beats. Excitement pulsed through her creasing veins. She began to dance in her standing place. Hazel eyes lurked around The Crater. But, none was spotted or heard anymore. Not even a mere fly buzzing around her head. For just the fact of wanting someone there, she began to imagine that the pesty fly was bothering her. With only a few shakes of her head, it was easily faught away. Pedestals slashed out at the ground, waiting for something to do, eyes watched as the dirt began to mound up in a pile. With a sigh, she looked back up at the horizon; where only a glimse of the day shown.
-» There it was again; those footsteps. It couldn’t possibly be a part of her imagenation. And her thoughts were proven right when a young stud came up to her side. Excitement filled her mahogony eyes when she saw him. He was quite handsome, she must admit. And he appeared to be around the same age as her. Calypso, herself just turned the age of four only a few moons ago. A smile came over her muzzle when he bagan to talk; after his comment she chuckled, “Well, I’ll call you…Salvatore!” she took a few steps, in a way of beginning to circle him; but she stopped. “ My name is Calypso.” She paused, realizing that he seemed quite interested and confused by her markings. She looked back at the violet spots on her body that formed a skeleton. “yeah, they are confusing looking…but, I have to live with them.”
-» The marks upon her body; there were many mixed emotions attatched to them. As a foal, no one really wanted to play with the odd-looking one. Being the independent equine she was, she didn’t mind being by herself as a foal. But, now that she was a few years older, she hated being along and pushed out of groups because of her looks. And because of this, she usually despised her unusual markings. Pushing her thoughts away, she looked at Salvatore and smiled. “so, what brings you here on this chilly night?” Feet began to dance one more as her head was thrown up. She slightly nugged his neck in a friendly manner.

Danicio stood with his head raised high, almost as though he thought it made him look taller than it really was. There was a sense of pride about the cub; he peered up at Salvatore with an almost knowing, cheeky grin. The look on the cub’s face surprised Salvatore somewhat and the non-spectral colored stallion raised a ‘brow’ in return. The cub nudged his ‘masters’ leg with his damp, ice blue nose, motioning for the tinted stallion to focus his attention elsewhere. “Well, I’ll call you… Salvatore!” Good, good. Being called Salvatore was good, as that was his name – well, part of it. But it was such a drag having others address him by his full name. With a tilt of his head and a curious gleam in his pinkish purple eyes he watched as the skeletal marked girl took a few steps, almost as though she was about to circle him like she was the predator and he was the prey. ‘You’re the predator, you are, you are!’ a small voice, right at the back of his mind cried out, it echoed for a moment that lapsed into silence. Salvatore wrinkled his nose slightly at this.
He was no predator! He didn’t his father’s stubbornness, he didn’t put up a cold exterior and bury his emotions, he didn’t dive into sudden mood swings that could either last seconds or minutes like his father, he didn’t make himself heard and known, nor was he sharp tongued like his sister. ‘Calypso… I wonder if she has a nickname?’ as she spoke of her markings he took the opportunity to look at them again, they were still intriguing as ever. He wondered what his parents, what his sister would make of this girl, would they like her? …. Probably not, his parents and his sister weren’t the type to go around making friends. But Salvatore was completely different to them all, in-fact, he couldn’t help but feel guilty the way he was, he sometimes felt ashamed of the way he was, part of him wanted to have mood swings, part of him wanted to bury his emotions and put up a cold front, be stubborn as a mule and make himself known! But… that just wasn’t him. He was a laid back, happy go lucky chap who still hadn’t mastered the art of socializing. He’d only really ever had the company of Danicio as a child. Kinda sad if you think about it… your only friend was made up and didn’t even exist. He almost pouted at this thought, like a boy whose mother had just scolded them for trying to sneak hidden candy from the cupboard. Ears swivelled and then pricked and his eyes darted to meet the girl’s own eyes which were a soft, pretty hazel color. What brought him out here this chilly night? Well… His mind and brain furiously began searching for an answer, but none came.
It would be rude to shrug, rude to say ‘I dunno’ so he stuck up, “Nothing really, I s’ppose I just felt like… taking a stroll?” ‘Was that a good enough answer? She’ll believe me, won’t she? She doesn’t think I’m some stalker creep, does she? I hope not… I’m not a stalker. She doesn’t mind that I’m talking to her, does she? Maybe she was sleeping and I disturbed her sleep… What if she suddenly turns vicious on me?’ After several moments of dwelling this over he actually found those thoughts pretty amusing, he was more than sure now that she was no threat, he was certain of that now as he watched her dancing right there in-front of him, the moon light bathing her pearly grey and violet coat. Danicio blinked and peered up at his ‘master’ again, contemplating what to do or say, but nothing came to mind so he remained silent, not sure how to push Salvatore into a deeper, more meaningful conversation. Salvatore didn’t particularly like the silence that wrapped round him like a thin, itchy blanket, he shuddered slightly and he jumped a little as he felt Calypso’s muzzle nudge against his neck.
The touch was brief but it startled him so, he’d never had contact with anyone but his family. His eyes widened, but only for a moment. He relaxed quickly and grinned in response. “So… d’you have a nickname? Like… Cal or… Caly?” he quizzed her, eager to know this now as he couldn’t seem to get his tongue around the name. ‘Cal… yp… sooo… Its not that hard, really… is it? Calyp… so?’ he spent perhaps a little too long dwelling it over and before he knew it the silence had wrapped around his shoulders again. He threw up his head and swished his purple hair almost looking childishly giddy at that moment. “What d’you do for… entertainment?” ‘I’m pretty sure she doesn’t play tag with an imaginary tiger cub, that’s for sure…’
